It’s quite a long title for this painting. I couldn’t think of anything catchy. I been focusing my art on telling stories. I spent a great deal of time on this work, about 4 hours total. Granted there are some things i could refine at a later time, I am currently happy how it is in it’s current state. I was very interested in making sure the perspective is interesting and accurate. My obsession with chiarscuro has no end. Another dragon, I know. I will be working on a shipwreck scene for my next story painting. Created in Photoshop. (C)2012 maugryph
My money is as always on the Dragon but the onlooker has the stance of a Mentor or Master of the Warrior and his calm gaze gives the feeling that either the Dragon is not as scary as the Warrior thinks or the Warrior is braver and more skilled than he looks. It’s a great drawing but the outside observer of the scene is not sure what you want us to look at as there are several points of interest. This could be because you are used to thinking in movement .
Thank you :D. I like your interpretation of the artwork. I agree with you that i might of made the image too busy. Maybe if I calm down the background, it might make the focal point (the warrior and dragon) pop out better.I will give it a try. thank your for your critique, i do appreciate it very much.
Criticism is the easy bit but I will enjoy seeing the next step.
Love it. It sort of has a Tim Burton feel to it.
thank you very much:D
