The theme for this week portraits will be helmets. I would like to get better at painting objects with reflective metallic surfaces, what better way then painting people wearing helmets? My reference for the painting comes from Wikimedia as usual, but I changed the face of the person, since I didn’t find a signed release with the photo, I decided to play it safe. This helmet was basically a giant distorted mirror that reflected the crowds and the feathers on it’s metallic surface. I knew i wouldn’t have time to draw all the reflections and details, so I did my best to just get the jest of the reflections.
Bioshock Infinite comes out tomorrow. I have to wait a few months for it to go down. Paying $60 for a game is not in my budget. C’est la vie.
very, very nice. I used to go on an archeological did at Hadrian’s wall in The UK, so I love anything Roman, always have.
That is so cool, did you go as part of a curriculum, or where you a volunteer? I always loved history.
Volunteered did it for a couple of weeks each year. I did a degree in geology so I always liked the outdoors!
