Man on a pegusis vs. a monsterious blob. (speed painting)

speed paint blob monster

Every day or two I will start doing landscape/story speed painting again. They teach me allot more then I like to admit, and it is one of the best ways for me to get quicker with painting and improving my compositions. The monster started like a blob with tentacle by then changed to resemble that creature in ‘Spirited Away’.. if he was a blob and and tentacles. I should of done something cooler but oh well.too late. Next speed painting. I know I still a bit rough but I am getting better. Painted in Photoshop. About 2 hours

Critiques are welcome.

  1. 2 Hours? πŸ˜€ Man, this would take me 2 days and still it would look like a painting of a child in the 3rd grade. Question: why not use a screen recording software like Camtasia for example to capture a real speed painting process and post a videos of you speed painting on YouTube or Vimeo? πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚ Five years ago I would of said the same thing. I will ententuly will start doing speed painting videos. I ve been experimenting in Photoshop so my process is not solid yet to share with viewers. I will in the future :D.

  2. I really like your landscape/story paintings. Always seems to be a lot of imagination on display. Before even reading your caption I was getting a Ghibli vibe from this. Very cool πŸ™‚

  3. Me again ! Advice. There are a lot of games like Poxnora, Card Hunter, Duel of Champions (card based collectible strategy games) that higly rely on great artwork. This artwork reminds me of a Poxnora styled runes ( cards ). They are ran by Sony Online Entertainment. My advice would be that you contact them about future work you could be doing by making artwork for their rune expansions.
