Another dragon painting. The main focus of this painting was composition and flow. I wanted to make the dragon look like a bad-ass and give the creature weight. I did my best to avoid drawing the ‘alex’ dragon face I commonly draw in my drawings. I wouldn’t want to meet this dragon in a dark alley… or anywhere for that matter. Not too bad for my imagination.
My comps are starting to get a little better. The painting needs refinement in some areas but has good potential. Not entirely happy with the colors. I have a video of me painting this. I will try to upload it tomorrow for those who are interested in my workflow. Painted from scratch in Photoshop with a Wacom Intros tablet. 2 hours and 15 minutes.
So in love with this. Amazing! 🙂
Thank you very much 🙂
Damn ! Its incredibly difficult to get a dragon right ….. Theres always something missing – too few horns, too thin, looks more like a lizard than a dragon, non-magestic ….. but you have some how managed to correct all these flaws that go unnoticed by many artists …. You are an awsome artist ! Keep up the good work !!
Thank you so much. I’m encouraged by your comment.
Nice drawing, I like how fierce the dragon’s expression looks.
Thank you 🙂
