I am in love with the armor in the Dark Souls games. I forgot what the name of the plate is. Havel’s Armor, I think ( I don’t want to load up the game again to find out because I fear that I will play it for hours). I just felt like drawing the breast plate, I will probably draw a full set. If your wondering why my character’s head looks like that is because I joined the Dragon Covenant in the game.
I was needing inspiration as I was having wonderful art block. Then I remembered I bought this book a while back called “Fantasy Genesis: A Creativity Game for Fantasy Artist by Chuck Lucas. You role dice and you match up the numbers to different words in different categories with the dice roles. As a exercise you attempt to draw what the words give you.The only problem is that you need DnD dice to use it. I lost mine. I looked for generators on the net but they were more geared to characters for RPG games. So I decided to make my own generator. And spent two hours programing this when I probably could of done something elsev (Like play Dark Souls):D. It’s rather rudimentary but it gets the job done. It can be used in conjunction with the book but it’s not required (Although I would recommend checking the book out at least). You welcome to use it for your own needs if you wish. If you know someone that could benefit with this program, Please share this post with them. If you find this app useful, please like this post.
The download link is here, you need at least Windows XP (or better) or Linux with Wine to run it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7Fgk8uRVlgSejd1Q0dESWRaNGc/edit?usp=sharing
(In Google drive: Click the down arrow to the right of the file to download or Pick File > Download)
I’m am trying with dear life to conquer my ADD and make some finished art for my portfolio. Since I enjoy fantasy, I though I would do a story painting. The interaction between the mage and the king regarding the drake trophy above the kings head is the most important part of the story. I will leave it to you to interpret what they are talking about. This will be a completed painting, color and all. two and a half hours so far
A two hour sketch of a dragon. I had allot of fun painting it. I liked it so much I used it as my icon. I been in a strange mood as of late. I been thinking of changing the blog name to that of my own “Dean’s Art Blog”. I thought having a pen name would be a cool, but now I’m not so sure. I thought Maugryph would be easy to remember but few can pronounce it right. The named deviated from a gryphon character I had designed for a comic two years ago but never used. I’ve been using this blog for 2 years now, I am embarrassed by the art did two years ago, I’m so tempted to delete the old stuff, but it does chronicle my evolution as a artist, so I leave it be.
Posting will be less frequent for a little while, so I can get some things in order 😦
It’s a me a Mario! Mario was one of my heroes when I was a kid. I have no clue why. As part of my ‘draw popular characters in my own style’ project, I thought it would be fitting to do a honorary doodle of Mario. I know that the new Mario Kart 8 is out. I don’t have a Wii U. My friend does, he is addicted. I LOVE YOU DAN!!
I am doing a experiment in which I sketch popular video game characters (The prince in Katamari was popular. Unfortunately I dont think he is anymore) in my own mark.
Here is what the prince looks like in the games: http://katamari.wikia.com/wiki/Prince
