I struggled with painting tonight but am happy with the colors. 2 hours in photoshop.
I know this is a lame daily but this is all I had time for.
I really wanted to draw one of my favorite old characters. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you have probably seen him a few times. I went out of my comfort zone and massed (aka blocked in) the shapes without a preliminary line sketch
1+ hour of work which I am ashamed to say is the most I’ve spent on a daily so far this year. Drawn in Manga Studio as always.
I also have a girl named Alix and a dragon named Alex… I need to come up with better names for my characters. Maybe I can rename the gator Chip or something.
Also, what do you think of the redesign of the blog?
Now that I’ve finished modeling the walls, it’s time to make the floors and ceilings + the props to dress the scene. I will be uploading the walls in a couple hours.
A T-rex with firey feathers and robotic appendages. Nothing is more epic.
Painting in mass instead of line has really helped me loosen up. My mass sketches look better then my line sketchs. I think it’s because I can focus more on the shapes then the contours. I need to keep pushing myself to improve.
This picture has nothing to do with Pokemon. Dear lord, a kyogre is hard to anthropomorphize!
A long noodle like serpentine sea monster. I’m very happy with this sketch as I was able to focus mainly on forms. something that line drawings make difficult at times.
Even monsters need a pick me up in the mornings.
I got to get into to habit of uploading my dailies to wordpress everyday. At least I do the dailies every day.
