Today’s character design is Arron Shepfield. He is a scastctic egotistical owner of a coffee chain but has a big secret regarding his entire planet.

Waterfall Concept: Project Night(D34)
Some more concept art for my Project Night project. I was thinking of a waterfall /oasis like area in the mountains of the desert. I haven thought of what events would happen at the waterfall yet.
Monster Concept (D8)
Monster concept for a game I’m working on.
Daily Paint 29 – Sea monster attacks boat
I need to do more of these environment story paintings. This painting came from just playing around with shapes until something appeared. That thing is this sea monster fish. It looks much more lively and interesting then my last sea monster painting in 2013. I think I leveled up a little. An hour more or less
Character 2.5 – Movember Barbarian (wip)
Forgive the cruddy quality. I took a picture with my android tablet. I am out of town but wanted to continue drawing the characters on weekdays. Being the genius that I am, I brought the wacom tablet with me but forgot the freaking pen. So I sketched this on paper. I spent around 15 mins on this, granted he needs more work done. I deviated a bit from the ref image this time. I was in a November mood so I gave him facial hair.
Daily Painting No.40 (Gryphon Pet WIP) (Alexis)
Concept art for Alexis’ pet gryphon. He is a loyal guardian to Alexis. It’s is a rather small gryphon (a microgryph is what I will be calling it, a rare pet in Alexis’ world), about the 1/3 of the size of a human being. But don’t let his small size fool you. Anyone that messes with Alexis will get seriously messed up. There is a small sub-plot about how the gryphon came under her care and what the gryphon was once before. Critique, Repaint the Talons, mix and blend the painting to make it less rough. Feel free to critique or comment about my painting. Painted in Photoshop; Time spent 3 hours so far.
Daily Painting No.32 (Dragon WIP part 1)
Here be a dragon. the head is based on a dragon ‘self portrait’ painting a did a week ago and I used it as a base for this painting. the eye(s) are the only thing remaining form the old painting. I needed a break from still life painting today, yet I made sure to make a light reference. Even though this dragon is out of my imagination, the light ref should help me a lot. I come to the conclusion it is foolish to painting without a solid thumbnail and a light ref (and possibly a color study when I brave up to paint it). I have a dual screen so I find it enjoyable to paint while watching a movie. When wal-mart had its black-Thursday sale (I guess Thanksgiving should be renamed Debts-giving) and bought about 20 two dollar DVDs and a few four dolor blu-ray disks. Most are not on netflix so it felt justified.
I will alternate this painting between my still life paintings. I am not concerned about speed, just making looked finished
Self critique:the fins look to flat, add depth, make the scales on the neck interesting, research back wings to make them correct.
Dragonian Warrior Clad in Light Armor
A couple days ago I published to the blog completed artwork of the Dragon Humanoid Warrior. I wasn’t completely happy with it so I continued to work on it. I was displeased with the dragon’s face and I totally forgot to finish the neck, so I fixed it. Made the eyes bigger and engaged them to the viewer. The armor was originally inspired by a armor set in the video game Dark Souls, but when I was done drawing the armor it was too close, so I modified the armor to something more original. Fixed some sloppy errors in the background but left it relatively loose. Fixed some lighting issues. Removed the old image and post off the blog.

The Ominous Tower

A dark eerie tower with stakes protruding out of it with vultures circling around, with it’s last unfortunate visitor still ‘hanging around’ the tower. (I know that was bad pun.. oh look shades are falling from the sky….). I been using Sketch Book Pro as of late due to getting it half off on a amazon sale. I must say it is drastically improved from the last version, with natural brushes and smudge tools, selection tools similar to Photoshop’s, and a clean interface. It’s now self contained so now I can draw a major if not all of the piece without relaying on Photoshop all the time. I might do a video on Sketch Book Pro 6 in the future.
