Current process of next character. Basic blocking in. Should have it completed later today. Also I am still behind in uploading. I have a couple animations and artwork from my classes that I would like to share with everyone. I might also have some commissions to upload.
I forgot to upload this. Speed painting of actress Bhavana Menon. I am unfamiliar with her work. I just liked her face and decided to paint it. Time limit was 15 minutes. I’m going to stop time limits.
here is the video of me painting her.
For this landscape painting, I wanted to experiment with red and yellows. I thought a desert setting would be cool and decided to try something more original and put it in a valley surrounded by mountains and put a giant building in the mountain.
A new daily project, similar to my head a day project that I worked on for 35 days.
For the next thirty days will be doing a 30 day environment painting challenge with the exception of the last day in which I will pick the best of the lot and clean it up and make it a portfolio piece. This is mostly to improve myself. Any feedback is most welcome.

Portrait of Becky Wisdom
My first portrait ‘commission’. This the longest I have spent on a portrait so far. Four hours. Instead of drawing a portrait a day for a hour, I spent a hour a day on this painting for 4 days. I am pleased with the face and lips. I simplified the hair to make it more manageable. I need more time figuring out how to render hair more efficiently.

The Medic is one of my favorite TF2 characters. I did a quick sketch of him last week. I felt that I needed to finish this portrait. I use it as my avatar in Deviant Art.
I also add a hot bounce light for fun. It’s amazing how adding another light source brings paintings to life. Next portrait is that of Becky Wisdom, a kind lady who follows my blog and is brave enough to allow me to paint a portrait of her face.Photoshop
3d model WIP model for Cruze that ‘other’ protagonist. Cruz is the more spontaneous, easy going type compared to Alex who is all ‘Serious Business'(I can’t believe I quoted a meme, no wonder I am forever alone 🙂 ). In the design process I decided shorts would be the best choice for Cruze to wear, because my friend, rain, snow, or shine will be wearing shorts! His ancestry must have polar bear genes. The shoes are place holders and will be changed.
Time spent 2 hours.Created in Hexagon, Daz Studio and Photoshop
First rough of the character Alex. The character that represents myself for web comic / animation thingy that I keep restarting. It is a project with my friend. I be doing the art and character design, he will be coloring the comics and promotion, we will both be scripting, animation, and voice acting. This time due to Carrara’s buggyness, I used just Hexagon to create the model and then imported them into DAZ Studio Pro as morphs that where applied directly to the base mesh. I created clothing and hair in Hexagon as well. The hoodie was on my dragon and I just reused it. The pants and shoes are sliced and diced from clothing that came with DAZ. They are simply placeholders until I can make my own shoes and pants or mod them into something decent. You might be wondering, ‘wasn’t he a gator/dragon in the concept art?’ Yes there was but it doesn’t fit with what we want to do. I feel human characters are a better fit for this project for now. I still have a dragon model I spent forever on, I will be using it for SOMETHING. I still think gators are awesome.
Update: Updated some text text that didn’t make since. I called him my alter-ego, I think that was incorrect terminology.
Time Spent: 3 hours on this model, so far.
Hexagon for modeling morphs(face and body) and clothing
DAZ studio for applying morphs, and posing

Portrait of the fictional Character Booker Dewitt, the protagonist of Bioshock Infinite. I haven’t played the game yet and the only two decent references I could find was the box art and a concept image. Wanted to draw Booker at a different angle and different lighting, since it has little benefit for me to just copy someone’s painting. It was a more difficult painting aft first until I found the official concept art . Booker looks very anime-ish in the concept art, I attempted to render him more realistically in my painting.
This weeks portrait theme will be fictional characters in video games.

Painted in Artrage and PhotoshopTime Spent: One in a half hours
Today’s daily portrait – a CID officer in a helicopter. I have in the past drawn ancient armor and outfits. I thought it would be fun tackle a modern soldier’s outfit and helmet. I spent about a hour painting it in Artrage. I used the roller brush for the background and the oil brush for the officer.
The photo reference I used is from the U.S Army available as public domain. I liked the anonymity of the officer in the picture. I honestly don’t know alto about CID. I just liked the picture.
