Project Night Prototype Footage

So much work yet so much more to do.

Project night is an adventure game I’ve been working on and off for the last four months.I am creating the game with Unity using C# and Mono. All models where made in Blender. Music was made in ThumbJam and Audacity. It still has a way to go. Still has some glitches in the AI.

I have set up an official blog for the game: https://projectnightgame.wordpress.com. That’s a WIP as well.

Project Night: Monster Concept Art

Concept art of the monsters in my adventure game. The theme of the monsters is eyeballs. The theme of the environment is teeth. I painted these in Photoshop CC.

The first monster character is the Brute: a buff but slow monster that hunts you during the day, and the Chaser: A nimble fast monster that hunts you down at night.

I’ve already have made the 3d models and are now in the game!  I will upload them to sketchfab soon as well as some in game footage of the prototype.

Above is some concept sketch for a character I was going to put in Project Night but later went a different direction. And a random dragon sketch.

It’s been a hellish past 2 months with friends and family moving away, surgery on my nose so I could breathe, loss of a contract, and other things, however, I will be back to posting artwork starting tomorrow. The break has brought some clarity regarding my art. I’m still working on Project Night, and after working on it off and on for 5 months, the prototype is almost complete.

Things I will be doing:

Tomorrow I will be uploading videos on my progress on Project Night.

Simplifying the menus on this site. Adding my 2 demo reels.

I will be working on a new comic/animation project after I finish the prototype. I’m conflicted between 2 ideas and having trouble deciding which one to move forward with. I miss having a project like this. I had some success with Alex and Cruz, so I’m hoping to take what I learned from it and keep moving forward.

Soon will be starting another blog dragondean.wordpress.com that will have more than just art related postings and will talk about my other interests such as video games, programming, my photos, the songs I wrote, cool things that I found, and other misc stuff. Maugryph.com will still be where I post  my artwork for now. I plan to post only once or twice a week on DragonDean but with more lengthy writing.

A Chip Izard blog for my music is coming soon as well as a YouTube channel that you can listen to.

Next week I will be  making a very small game within 24 hours, just to see if I can.

Waterfall Concept: Project Night(D34)

Some more concept art for my Project Night project. I was thinking of a waterfall /oasis like area in the mountains of the desert. I haven thought of what events would happen at the waterfall yet.

Project Night: Ruins Concept art (D31)

Some concept art for the ruins area of project dark. I’m debating if I should give it a jungle like environment or not. In old jungle ruins you see those large vines that take over buildings. I would like to incorporate that into the level if possible but I don’t know if I have the main power to make them. I drew a bird/lizard like creature because my brain wasn’t up to drawing a person tonight. Honestly for the world, what needs to considered is the fauna and flora in the world. It needs to be just a little exotic but still grounded in our world

Wall and prop models for Project Night

Both are WIP, the textures on the pots and rocks might changes. Including the floor/ceiling models (not shown) I’ve spent over 20 hrs on the models so far. I was hoping to knock out a level in a week but getting a new job and doing freelance work, my time is spent.
