Alex the Alligator 3D Model WIP

anthro gator alligator scalie dragon human character oc 3d modeling

I try to tackle too many things at once. Here is Alex, he is a gator that has hair!!!! (there is a reason for this in the story :D) He is the co protagonist for ‘Alex and Cruz”. The tail need to be finished hand have those bumps on them that crocs and gators have. His shirt design needs to be more elaborate. And he needs his scales painted an so forth.

Since I used parts from other the other models I made, I spent about 2 hours on him.

Alex and Cruz : Comic 01

anthro furry comic humor dragon cheetah vat of cheese

Finally . The first comic from a project I been working on and of six months on.  It is a 3d rendered comic /animation hybrid (the animation will be lacking for some time). The Cheetah is a little rough still. only the dragon is finished.  The dragon is not Alex though, the alligator is. The dragons name is Derrick. I’m actually am still working on the alligator but will start using him in test renderings as well. I brought back the unicorn from the dead, and was able turn the old dragon model into a lizard chick, so I have most of the cast ready. We need to start making sets for the characters to live in My friend is helping out on the project but so far I have done a majority of the work so far. I’m positive he will be very helpful and this will become a co-op project. But just in case he does bale out on me, I have a backup plan.. removing the cheetah character. The only elements he has helped out with so far is the design of the cheetah character and this test panel. But he sounds serious in helping me make the comics , joke ideas, the stage sets and promoting the thing so I don’t think I have anything to worry about.

Little Boy (Character 1)

little boy concept revision

Update: Really goofed up. Fixed some issues Weaver pointed out. Added some more refinement to the shading. The most annoying thing I did was draw the body using modules but I drew the stupid face as a symbol. oh well.

Story: This is a happy go lucky kid that lives in dark town hiding many secrets.

Starting a new 30 day project like I did with the 30 day portrait challenge a few months ago. The theme is characters. I thought I would start out with something simple. A young boy. I shouldn’t draw so late. I think it came out decent but it could of been better if I did a little more research and a few more prelim sketches. Maybe a more interesting shirt would help? I made the hands ginormous and had to shrink them down. I prefer the black and white version to the color one. Let me know what you think. Don’t be shy, I won’t bite.

Update: I decided focus on my portfolio with design and illustration projects. So I wont be doing this list for a while

List of characters I will be drawing during the 30 day challenge. Each will have a different background story, gesture, and I ‘hope’ I can give each a distinct personality.

Asgaut the Viking – Page 2

viking hero skiny city in sky angry hero comic graphic novel mad

Second Page of Asgaut the Viking.  Trying different camera angles and driving myself crazy drawing them. On the plus side I am sticking to 4-6 panels a page, which is admittedly small for a graphic novel comic book thingy.

Created in Photoshop. I used a soft round brush for inking. I find that even though I have a 8×6 drawing tablet, I cant get my lines crisp enough. I thought I would try using halftones for this page. It’s easy to create halftones in Photoshop. I had a blast shading it though. It’s funny, shading and shadows used to be what I hated to draw, but now it’s what I look forward to. Any feedback is welcome.

Next some concept designs and I am aiming for two pages next week.

Non art related. I’ve been digging though all the games I bought during a Steam sale.  I have just played one of the strangest looking games ever. It’s caled Zeno Clash. The artwork and design of this game is so different compared to most fantasy games. It’s a interesting blend of Streets of Rage and Hexen and Pete knows what. The monster designs are so odd, you sometimes have to do a double take to make sure you saw what you thought you saw correctly. The acting is terrible to the point of irritation unfortunately. In fact I could barely understand the character giving the tutorial! And what do they have against chickens?  Since a sequel is coming out soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if this game goes out on sale. Recommend if you want something strange and different.

Update: for some reason this never published for some reason, It remained in my drafts despite the fact that I clicked on publish. weird.

Asgaut the Viking: Page 1

asgaut the viking hero comic short story

First page of my short comic story. Originally this was going to be the second page. I did a page that was detailed about the world, but it reviled too much too soon.
Created in Photoshop.
Time Spent 2 hours.

I also setup a blog for this comic project at “asgaut.wordpress.com“. I will be uploading the pages to both blogs. I was planing ahead a way for people that would like to read the comic beginning to end with ease.

Alex the Alligator Character Concept Art

anthro alligator cartoon friendly smile persona character fursona alter ego sillynes comic

Alex the alligator is a character I have designed for a comic /animation hybrid that I am working with a friend to produce. The character’s personality is based on my own. It was a interesting challenge to draw a friendly/geeky looking alligator. Funny animal alligators are usually portrayed as bullies. It’s going to be fun to bash stereotypes with this comic. Originally he was going to be a dragon but we decided for the projects to use only real animals. He has a dragon look in him still. My friend chose a cheetah for his character. A fat cheetah, that’s going to be interesting.

Update: I decided humans are better for this project at this time. He looks a lot like my dragon character Chris.

Farley the Unicorn Finshed Model + Lighting test and Animation

unicorn scared freaking out 3d modeling

Farley the unicorn is finally finished. I thought Farley’s face and coloring was making him resemble more of a rhino than a horse. So I remodeled the face to look like a horse. Recreated the tail and horn. changed fur color to gray and painted the textures onto him. I love the look of gray horses with the dark coloring around the muzzle so I included that in his design. Jed is much easier to creative expressions due to his mouth range being in front of the muzzle.

I can finally start ‘Dean and Jed’ (or ‘Jed and Dean’, I haven’t decided which sounds better) I’m keeping it at a two character cast for a while, later I will create a stock sheep character that I can morph into other sheep characters for extras in scenes. I start cranking out something on March 4.

But I have been putting my concept art training on the back burner so I will be working on that for a while. I still have 19 heads to draw *withers in fear*

Total time spent creating Jed: 25 hours.

Created in Carrara, Hexagon, and Daz Studio
