I discovered a awesome 3d sculpting program that actually works on a iPad. It’s called 123 creature. It’s the closest thing you will get to Zbrush on the iPad. Made by Autodesk, you know the AutoCAD and Sketchbook guys. The program has three modes. First is the skeleton mode which is similar to Zspheres and Blenders’s Form tool. After that you ‘bake’ your model to a polygons you can paint or sculpt it. My only complaint is that you can’t go very detailed in your sculpting so you will only can do so much in the app itself. But since you can export your model to OBJ, you can finish the model in your favorite 3d Software. The texture tools are excellent and will remind you of Mudbox’s painting tools.
Now back to the art. This is my third attempt to make a eastern style dragon (the other two dragons will not be posted due to the ugly sauce they produce) in 123d Creature and I ‘m happy how it turned out. I couldn’t give the dragon little teeth due to the limitations of the sculpting tools, I also had trouble coloring the tongue due to not being able to shrink the brush smaller. Pretty decent for my third attempt. I’m happy I was able to give it such a dynamic pose, my last couple dragons have just been standing bored out of their minds 😀
I spent about 3 to 4 hours on it.
