After 20 hours of work, here is the finished 3d model I made for my final 3D Printing project. The real life model came out beautifully. I thought it was already uploaded it to the blog, but strangely it wasn’t .

Sea monster attacking two men in a small rowboat (Environment Painting 4)

Environment Speed Painting 4. I noticed I have to be in the correct ‘mode’ to paint these. I attempted and abandoned 3 paintings beforehand. When it comes to setting up a painting I was given this helpful advice : When blocking a painting, if the design is not pleasing and coming together after 10 minutes or so, start over. I had done a similar painting  a while back with a giant squid sneaking up on a fishermen. It was fun to approach the idea with different characters and in a different way. The splatter and charcoal brushes are becoming my pals. This is definitely one painting I should finish.

The Promise

For this painting I wanted to tell  some story between the two characters in the foreground and paint a ocean\sunset scene with some sort of stone structures protruding out of the water. I was surprised how quickly I was able to paint this. It took me about three hours to complete. I didn’t smudge this time to blend. Instead I used as soft round brush like a airbrush.  I enjoy value painting so much.  Let me know what you think 🙂

Update: Shrunk down the birds on the tower as they where too big. Lighted up the sides, made it too dark. Cleaned up the tower farthest in the distance

Three portraits drawn entirely from my imagination

I was bored one afternoon and decided to revisit a old paint program I used to mess with all the time called ArtRage. I ‘painted’ these three portraits using the ‘oil’ brush.  Looks somewhat convincing as a traditionally painted image. All three images took about 30 minutes each. I cheated and painted over the guy painted I had made earlier to make the woman.
