Finished Drawings – Drawing and Composition II Class

Fist of all, It’s been almost 2 weeks since I have posted anything so I am very behind. Im having a stressful time.. I apologize for not posting anything as of late. I am very thankful of all my readers for the encouragement you have giving me. I have decided to switch back to the still life project I was working on a few months ago. I feel that is better and more beneficial then doing these doodle. However I will be uploading sketches regulatory so It will be somewhat similar anyway.

Before I go into a tangent, this was the six assignments I did in drawing class. Three of them have dragon like creatures. Go figure. two of these I have already uploaded.  All traditional pieces made with graphite and charcoal.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone.

Daily Painting No.21 – Enchanting Forest

Dark forest with light exit escape the dark trees of doom

I wanted to paint a landscape forest scene out of my head. Again I attempted the back to front method of painting. I jumped in without doing thumbnails first,it could of ended with disaster, but I did ok.  The idea of the painting is that your in a dark forest but you can see the ‘exit’, the light, the way out to safety.  the furna in my design similar to the ones in the forest I live by. Unfortunately I ran out of time, and was unable to add characters. I’m too happy with it at the moment, I will self critique it the next day, when I will be able to see all the mistakes.

I spent about a hour and 45 minutes on this painting. Painted in Photoshop with a wacom tablet. Any feedback is appreciated.

Daily Painting No.9 ( Wizard casts a lighting spell in a dark forest)

a wizard casting a light spell in a forest

I have been in a national forest for most of the day. Had the urge to draw a forest scene. The wizard casting a lighting spell was a spur of the moment thing.

Self critique: needed to finish the bark of the tree. and have more branches point toward the wizard. While I am proud of the leaf texture brushes I made, the realism of the textures conflict with of the unfinished bark. I totally forgot to add bounce lighting to the leaves. I love the glow effect of the light I made with minimal effort.
