I haven’t done pixel art in a while. So.. here we go. I painted this in Hexels 2.0 as it is very good for any grid or blocky artwork. It’s fantastic for pixel art.

QuickHorror Key Art

Here is the key art that I did for QuickHorror. It will be used at a promotional image for the beta/prototype distribution. I want to give a dark feel. I really wanted to paint the entire monster in the painting but then it take some mystery out of the game. The monster in the game is rendered in a way that you cant get a clear shot of it. I will release a trailer tomorrow, and a press release on Wednesday.

I’m hoping I can upload the game to IndieDB, GameJolt, an another indie game server tonight. It will only have the procedural generated levels but that alone should give a player hours of game play. If enough people like the game, I will Kickstart it. I’m excited and terrified. I’ve never promoted my games before.

Project Night: Ruins Area Concept Art

I am working on my second 3d game which temporary has the name ‘Project Night’. I plan on making a prototype that can be showcase in my portfolio alongside Alptraum. This has been a dream project that I’ve wanted to do for years, a first person game focused more on exploration and evasion then combat. It will have both ‘set’ and randomized areas, the prototype will probably only have one or two areas to explore, but I plan to continually work on it after the prototype is finished. The proto will have a ruins area and possibly  desert and underground mining areas.  It will be made in Unity and programmed in C#.

Alptraum won a prize at the “2015 Indie Game Maker Contest”

Last month my game Alptraum won a prize at the ‘2015 Indie Game Making Contest’ (Humble Bundle and Degica Inc (Game Dev Fort)

Alptraum won “Best game made with GameGuru” http://contest.gamedevfort.com/page/winners

I am surprised and very honored to win this prize,  this was my first finished 3d game. I made most of the assets and learned scripting in Lua, designing the levels, even writing the soundtrack to the game.. in three weeks.

Modeling, rigging, and importing a 3d game character into a 3d game for the first time was a challenging and rewarding part of the project.I was determined to finish this game, staying up to 3-4 am almost every night until the game was done.

At first the game play was going to be ‘Myst with a monster’, but due to time restraints the game play became more like an ‘arcade Slenderman.

Alptraum is about 20-40 minutes long and completely free with no DLCs and IAPs! Windows 7-10 and a decent video card is required for best performance.

Chip Rom and Son (3d Models – ‘Pokepeople Project’)

Chip Rom the Zekrom and his son. Chip is a quiet and reserved person who resides on the geeky side of the spectrum. He is a single parent of a young rambunctious son, who he loves deeply. His ideal is to be a great father. The son model is based on Chip but with a much larger head with no hair. Remember at the beginning of the year I announced that I was going work on a short film parody using my ‘pokepeople’. I finally have a model finished. I need finish one more pokeperson model more before I can start ‘shooting’ the short. It’s either going to  be the grumpy dragonite or the cocky charizard (Those two WIPs I uploaded two weeks ago). retopography is not so fun.
