I get the itch to paint a dragon every once and a while.

Creepy monster in forest(Env4.5)
Apparently I forgot to upload this creepy environment painting. I did this one out of my imagination. It needs some refining.
Abstract Ollice (D41)
A more surreal type of painting for today. As spheroid monster either puking or drinking the water while a poor ship is trying to say afloat.
Burrower Worm Monster (D14)
I got to get into to habit of uploading my dailies to wordpress everyday. At least I do the dailies every day.
Alptraum won a prize at the “2015 Indie Game Maker Contest”
Last month my game Alptraum won a prize at the ‘2015 Indie Game Making Contest’ (Humble Bundle and Degica Inc (Game Dev Fort)
Alptraum won “Best game made with GameGuru” http://contest.gamedevfort.com/page/winners
I am surprised and very honored to win this prize, this was my first finished 3d game. I made most of the assets and learned scripting in Lua, designing the levels, even writing the soundtrack to the game.. in three weeks.
Modeling, rigging, and importing a 3d game character into a 3d game for the first time was a challenging and rewarding part of the project.I was determined to finish this game, staying up to 3-4 am almost every night until the game was done.
At first the game play was going to be ‘Myst with a monster’, but due to time restraints the game play became more like an ‘arcade Slenderman.
You can download the game at:
http://gamejolt.com/games/alptraum-nightmare/88796#!
Alptraum is about 20-40 minutes long and completely free with no DLCs and IAPs! Windows 7-10 and a decent video card is required for best performance.
Special thanks to my family for their support, my friends JD and Dan for testing the game, Degica and Humble Bundle for sponsoring this annual contest, and The Game Creators for making the GameGuru engine.

Wyvern Hero Concept Art (Monster 22) (Project Phoenix)
This Wyvern will be the ‘character player’ of my future game: Code named “Project Phoenix”
I’ve come to the conclusion that I do my best work when a project is in mind. I will be making a very short 3d shooter similar to games like Gradius and Salamander. I’m literally ‘killing three birds with one stone’ by incorporating models I will be making as homework for my 3d classes into the models and props for the game. And since the baddies will also be monsters, I can finish my monster project with my concept art!
After the game is finished, I will make a demo reel showcasing the gameplay, models, and concept art of my last two games.
Anyways I’ve been busy with art commissions as of late, so I haven’t been able to update my blog as much as I liked. I should be able to upload them shortly.

Wendigo (Monster 18)
The monster I painted today is called a wendigo. It is in the myths of the Algonquian people. One version of the myth states this scary monstrosity was once a human but because he tasted the flesh of another man, he was warped and twisted into this creature and now hunts and eats the living. It has described with ‘desiccated skin’ and ‘bones popping out of the flesh’. A terrifying creature for sure. I want to give it a ‘undead’ look but not be gory.
