Pokemon Icons

pokeicons-set-1 pokeicons-set-2 pokeicons-set-3

For a couple weeks I did a Pokemon icon a day as a warm up and then used the icon on certain social networking sites, it surprising caused confusion with some people. I then realized that it would have been better to draw the entire Pokemon and not just the head… and i got bored with drawing ‘just’ the head

If you curious which pokemon is which, starting left to right: Arceus, Charmander, Dialga, Lugia, Pikachu, Electroid, Treeko, Dragonite, Torchic, Palkia, Yeventail, manectric, Keldeo, and finally Kyurem.

My favorate icons of the bunch is Dragonite, and Kyurem

Yes, I am a hopeless nintendo geek.

Chris the Haxorus

This was a parody Pokemon character I made for a comic project I was working with some forum friends. I call it a ‘pokeperson’ and is similar to the Latios Man concept I drew a month ago. But now it doesn’t look like the project is going to happen now. Ive been using the portrait as an avatar on some social sites I hang out at.

Link’s Mis-Adventures (Legend of Zelda Parody Animation)

Link confesses his love for turtles. The short film also features a garchomp (pokemon) and the old man that gives Link his sword.

This was my third animation project. The focus was Lip-syncing. . I tried 3 types of lip syncing

1. Replacement animation by switching mouth parts in and out.

2 using a jaw like henge. and

3. using the puppet tool for a ‘mouthless’ character.

Daily Paint 63 – Dragon head.

HNI_0038_MPO

A head of a dragon I doodled on the spot when I was eating at  Dunken Donuts. I have been practicing the use of complementary tones for the shadows of the picture. I noticed doing that breathes more life into my sketches.

Drawn on my 3DS using Colors 3D

Daily Paint 59 – Marth (Fire Emblem)

marth gardevour

I paused Super Smash Brothers and painted this in Art Academy (3DS). This is Marth (the man on the right.. yes.. he is a guy). He is the protagonist in the first two Fire Emblem games and is a fan favorite. It’s difficult to do detail work in AC. It’s still a great app. It won’t replace Colors 3D but maybe I can import my paintings into Colors 3d and do the detail work in that program.

Daily Paint 55 – Link, Cubone Link, and Old Man (Legend of Zelda)

Link is the daily paint, the others are characters used in my next animation project that I will upload soon. The poses are stiffer then usual because I needed to rig them for animation.

Link – Main character in ‘The Legend of Zelda’. There are three main ‘Links’ in the series, this is ‘Toon’ Link

Old Man – The one who give’s Link his sword in the beginning of the game. I had a lot of freedom with how I wanted him to look like, since the original is just a pixelated sprite.

Cubone Line – Link wearing a cubone’s mask.

Link is (C) Nintendo yada yada yada.

Some sketches I did in the ‘Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone’ DS game . For the life of me I can’t figure out how to export my painting to the SD card so I took snapshots with my phone.(I will try to re-upload less blurry ones in the future) I will have a mini review of the instructional game in a few days.

Daily Paint 32 – The Villager (Animal Crossing)

image

I’m still out of town. This painting was created on an Android tablet using a paint app called Artflow. I’m still coming to grips with the software. My stylus broke so i had to use my finger. Because of this; the shading is simple, l left the painting flat. It took 45 mins just to get this far.

Daily Paint 27 – Quilava

Daily-paint-27

Another pokemon. I am a shameless Nintendo fan. I grew up on a healthy diet of Mario and Zelda.  (When Pokemon is mentioned some think of the cheesy kid’s TV show instead of the RPG games: It makes me sad) I’m more into painting them then catching them and forcing them to fight for their lives via cage fights just so I can get some silly gym badge.  It will be a few days till my next pokemon painting, next time I am going to try to make it as realistic as my art skills will let me. Feel free to recommend a pokemon, if you’re so inclined. What is your favorate Legendary? (Mine starts with an R and ends with an A)

I was experimenting with painting long thin fur.  I didn’t realize how easy fire is to render.

Also this is my 27 daily in a row :D. Is my painting improving?
