Pokepeople Sketches (D28-29-30)

oh my arkeus character concepts first

Remember that Pokemon parody that I was working on but will probably never get around to animating? here are some characters for it.

I’ve been really busy with both commissions and my new job that I haven’t really gotten the chance to work a lot on my own projects like I wanted to.  I’ve spend about 20 minutes on each character. 2 on the first day, 2 on the second, inking and coloring on the third.

T-Rex likes Veggies (D4)

I’ve been really good about doing a daily every day, but not so good about uploading them to the blog.

Chip Rom and Son (3d Models – ‘Pokepeople Project’)

father-kissing-his-child

Chip Rom the Zekrom and his son. Chip is a quiet and reserved person who resides on the geeky side of the spectrum. He is a single parent of a young rambunctious son, who he loves deeply. His ideal is to be a great father. The son model is based on Chip but with a much larger head with no hair. Remember at the beginning of the year I announced that I was going work on a short film parody using my ‘pokepeople’. I finally have a model finished. I need finish one more pokeperson model more before I can start ‘shooting’ the short. It’s either going to  be the grumpy dragonite or the cocky charizard (Those two WIPs I uploaded two weeks ago). retopography is not so fun.

Latios Man Sketch

latios-man-in-my-dreams

I didn’t feel like starting a monster today. I do feel obligated to post something. I decided to sketch a ‘pokeperson’. This image is proof that I can anthropomorphize practically anything.  The original design of Latios is already pretty strange. I like it because it looks so uncommon. He looks like the offspring of a dragon and a jet plane.

Link’s Mis-Adventures (Legend of Zelda Parody Animation)

Link confesses his love for turtles. The short film also features a garchomp (pokemon) and the old man that gives Link his sword.

This was my third animation project. The focus was Lip-syncing. . I tried 3 types of lip syncing

1. Replacement animation by switching mouth parts in and out.

2 using a jaw like henge. and

3. using the puppet tool for a ‘mouthless’ character.

Maug the Rayquaza (Concept Art Character Sheet)

1423979491.maugryph_maug-rayquaza-ref-sheet-colored

I did this about a month ago. It’s a hybrid of my dragon character Alex and a Rayquaza, a legendary pokemon that does nothing but fly in the ozone and eat clouds all day. (I’m not joking)

It was originally going to be for a pokemon parody that I have shelved. In it’s place I made a cool animation starring Link from ‘The Legend of Zelda’

Now that I am caught up with my backlog I can start uploading new stuff again.

Garcomp Dude

chomp-of-the-gars3

This critter is part of an animation project I’m working on. He is also completely rigged and animated. Somehow he fell though the cracks as I forgot to upload him last week. Why is the garchomp wearing a hoodie? Your guess is as good as mine. The animation is around 20 seconds long and is fan-service/parody to The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, and Fire Emblem games. The main goal is making the characters talk convincingly.  The characters that will be speaking are Link, The garchomp in a sweater, Old Man, and Ike.
