This is a still life study of these cool seed shells I found on the ground at the zoo. If you know what type of seed, please let me know. Time spent painting this 45 minutes.
I wanted to work some more on the study. I didn’t feel like drawing a still life today. Honestly, I didn’t want to paint at all. Since this I my first color study of a artist, I was surprised how well I did. I think this is it for this painting, I have no interest in continuing. I studied a painting by Tom Kidd. Painted from scratch in Photoshop using a wacom tablet. Time spent, A little under two hours. My next study will be quick color thumbnail studies of a bunch of paintings by one artist. I saw a fellow artist on WordPress study this way so I want to give it a shot.
Still working on this study. Its about me learning about refining and polishing. It’s getting there. I’m starting to ‘figure it out’. The method is basically crosshatching. I love crosshatching in ink. For some bizarre reason I never figured out that I could apply the technique just as well to painting. I was sluggish at first but what getting in the groove near the end of the hour. It should take me 2-3 more hours to finish this. I painted this in Photoshop. Time spent on this session: 1 hour. 2hours total. Name of the artist who painted the original painting I am studying/coping is still unknown. Next time I study/copy a artist’s painting, I will make sure I know the artist’s name :0. I will work on it more on Friday.
