The Dragon Emerges

monster-truthless

A super quick illustration I did for the Ugly Truth Contest which I had to have in by midnight tonight, so I procrastinated to the last minute to do it. The reason I resisted is that I’m not to fond or good at macabre artwork. The submission of this painting I send to Ugly Truth has a mouth inside the mouth. I liked the original better so I uploaded this to the blog instead. There is so many great submissions, don’t think I have much of a shot this time due to the lack of macabre in my painting and that I didn’t have time to color it. That’s OK though, because it was fun regardless. And it It was my first time I ever entered a contest. I will be entering more contests in the future

The Curse

werewolf curse werewolf transtformation female cursed pendant in pain crying crying for help

Digging around my archives I found this drawing I did of this female werewolf arms raised trying to call for help but being unable to with only howls and whimpers coming out. It was a unfinished line drawing that I made a couple years ago. I thought it would be cool to see if i could bump it up a notch with my new painting skills and recreate it in a more realistic way. Then I though why is she a werewolf? Being bitten by one was too cliche. I thought a cursed pendant would be the most effective way to portray that. It was kinda fun experimenting with the ‘special effects’. Unlike most werewolf art where the artist ether is trying to scare you or try to show off how bad-ass the monster is, I wanted the viewer to feel sympathy for her.
